Democrats running in the officially nonpartisian Roxboro elections did rather well. Sam
Spencer, Henry Daniel, Merilyn Newell and Sandy Stigall all won seats on the city council. Tom Brown is our new democratic mayor.
Jason Torian came up short in his bid for a city council seat. Roxboro went from 50% Dem to %80 dem this year.

We had our county convention April 14. Delegates from 9 precincts were on hand to hear Brad
Miller, Ellie Kinnaird and Winkie Wilkins provide updates on recent legislative activities and take questions. The

Person Co. did very well supporting democrats, though the results could have been better. Brad Miller,
Ellie Knnaird, Winkie Wilkins, Johnny Lunsford, Joel Brewer*, Dewey Jones and Deborah Barker all posted wins. We gave
substantial leads to all the statewide judicial candidates. On the down side, we didn't get Fred Fox elected and had to rely
on Caswell Co. to get Joel Brewer another term.
Democratic
Women of Person Co. have organized!! If you are interested in participating please call 504 5942 for further information.
